Heylo for Run Leaders
We have introduced Heylo allow us to organise and communicate runs more easily and hopefully increase participation by existing and potential future members.
As Run Leaders, Heylo is used to post up runs you are hosting. Each run is set up as an Event which people can sign-up to. Each event has its own associated chat. Heylo can be accessed as an app on a phone or on an i-pad or computer.
As a Run Leader you can decide where a run will be hosted. On Thursdays we will have access to the room at the school on Thursdays but you are free to schedule a run from another location if preferred. Ideally we would like a Run Leader to take a longer run (5 miles plus) on a Thursday. There will usually be someone to take a 5K option and they can be added alongside the host for the longer run.
Adding an Event
Go to Events
Select Add
Be sure to fill in all details
Date
Time
Location (be as accurate as possible as the selected location will automatically be displayed on a map for the event)
Run route and/or details (distance)
Select a photo to add to the event (do this before you save the Event - you can change the photo afterwards but the thumbnail on the Events overview will show whatever you had when you first saved)
Select + Add registration type
Switch on Enable guests and set the limit to 25 (this will allow the event to be shared with non members)
Most of our runs are no limited by numbers but if required a cap can be added
On Event Day
Use the App to check who you are expecting to attend
Check the chat to see if there are any messages (e.g. people running late)
Use the App to check in those attending (anyone can do this if you don’t have your phone)
Photos can be shared afterwards in the Photo Share chat
