As you have probably been anticipating, The Lytchett Relays Team are sorry to inform all teams that the decision has reluctantly been made to cancel the 2020 Lytchett Relays.

This decision has not been taken lightly. The communication from UKA on 6th May 2020 hastened what was probably inevitable.

We have automatically transferred all team entries to next year which is now scheduled for Saturday 3rd July 2021 and plan to have the same arrangements for the 2021 Lytchett Relays as this year

We will also, be emailing everyone in the next few days with details of the cancellations and refunds, if you require them.

We are currently considering the possibility of running a “Virtual Lytchett Relay” over a weekend in the summer for all current teams that have already pre-paid entry for this year – Please let me know your thoughts and if this would be of interest to you?

Lytchett Relays Team

The Lytchett Relays will take place on Saturday 3rd July 2021 at Holton Lee, Holton Heath, Poole BH16 6JN

The Lytchett Relays are organised by Lytchett Manor Striders under UKA rules. Teams comprised of five runners with each runner completing a 5k lap around the scenic Holton Lee grounds.

It’s not just a race. Bring your friends and family and stay on afterwards to relax and socialise post-race in lovely surroundings. You can also bring your tent and stay the night. Alongside the relays, there will be:

  • Kids' race
  • Barbecue and home-made cakes
  • Bar open all afternoon and evening
  • Changing and showers on site
  • Camping on site (payable on the day)
As Lytchett Striders are famed for their baking, there will be cake on offer as well!

Race Entry

Course: The scenic 5k route is entirely off-road on heathland footpaths, grass and a 200m stretch of tarmac. The course is measured by GPS.

Teams: Categories for teams are mens/mixed/ladies and consist of 5 runners who must each complete one lap of the course. NB: Junior runners must be aged 14 or over on the day of the race. Runners may complete more than one lap for the same or different teams. The entry fee applies per lap.

Entries: Entry is possible via online entry The race will be limited to 90 teams. Entry fee per runner is £6 (UKA affiliated) or £8 (unaffiliated). Entries on the day possible at an additional charge of £1 per runner unless the race limit is reached beforehand (which it has been for previous events).

Numbers: Collected on the day from the race headquarters from 1:30pm. Team captains are asked to collect all numbers by 2:15pm. Amendments to team members and/or running order can be made on the day before 2:00pm

Closing date: Closing date for entries is Wednesday 30th June

Prizes: Will be awarded for the first three teams in each category and for the fastest three individual male and female runners
